Just seen this on the PEACE page....

If you guys could please take a few moments to forward the message below to the Wise County School Board members I would greatly appreciate it.

"In case you haven't heard, Eddy passed away this afternoon. All bickering and battles aside, the board needs to be unified long enough to pass a resolution honoring Eddy Giles and his service to Wise County Schools and the thousands of students he encountered along the way.

Eddy taught myself and many others more about being a kind person than any educator in the entire Wise educational system. The man truly dedicated his life to his family, friends, and students, and the least the school system can do is thank him for that service.

Thank you for having the dignity to honor a man who gave the system many, many years of devoted service."

Thought that was a nice gesture, I have forwarded it. Sad to hear, his family is in my thoughts.

A coworker just informed me of this, and was coming on to let others know if they hadn't already. I never met him in person, but I could sure tell he was a quality individual from the way he carried himself on here.

Spent alot of time with Mr.G over the years,and was proud to call him my friend. Reasonable,intelligent man (something that this area needs more of). He will be very much missed.

He seemed like a hell of a man. Those of us who never got the chance to meet him are much worse off for it.

It's hard to wrap my mind around it.
Things are going to feel quite different around BSG, not having him on council, not seeing him at the events to shoot the breeze with, not having him around to complain with (he was a hoot), not having his common sense and calm demeanor.
